Client Overview

Our client, a leading organization in the media and entertainment industry, is seeking a Social Media Specialist to support and execute the company’s organic social media strategy. This long-term contract role offers the opportunity to manage content calendars, create engaging posts, and cover live events to strengthen brand presence across platforms.

Job Overview

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for scheduling and publishing content, managing the social media calendar, and creating visually compelling posts and reports. The ideal candidate is proactive, creative, and highly organized, with experience using scheduling and reporting tools, content design platforms, and video editing apps.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and schedule social content across platforms using Sprout, Hootsuite, or similar tools

  • Create, update, and publish posts and templates in Canva for social campaigns

  • Support content creation, event coverage, and real-time social posting at concerts and promotional events

  • Track performance metrics and prepare reports using Excel, Google Sheets, or social analytics tools

  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and support community management activities

  • Stay current with social media trends, content formats, and best practices

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience managing brand or corporate social media channels

  • Strong proficiency with Canva for design and basic editing

  • Experience with social scheduling and reporting platforms (Sprout, Hootsuite, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and reporting

  • Familiarity with video editing tools such as CapCut, Reels, or TikTok’s in-app editors

  • Excellent written communication and social copywriting skills

  • Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

  • Based in the Toronto area and able to attend 1–2 downtown events per week

  • Expected hours: 30–37.5 per week; long-term ongoing contract
