Job description

Our client is seeking a Graphic Designer. This position works closely with other Designers, Interns, and the Creative Director on a variety of projects and assignments. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual, with well-developed creative and critical thinking skills who is able to process, react to, and solve problems in a timely manner as they arise.

Responsibilities

•            Work closely with corporate marketing and divisional marketing teams in the planning, creative development, execution, and production of marketing materials and brand guidelines

•            Ensure that these materials align with marketing standards and requirements, follow brand compliance guidelines, and are delivered within defined timelines and approved budgetary allowances

•            Lead and/or participate in design concept, development, execution, and production of various materials including print, stationery, collateral, multi-media, direct, events, signage, web, interactive, iconography and illustrations

•            Guide and advise fellow employees in the creative process to foster stronger working relationships and solutions (junior designer, interns, etc.)

•            Supervise interns: assigning tasks, overseeing and coaching through the creative process, and ensuring on-time delivery of projects

 

Required skills

•            Graphic Design degree (BFA)

•            Five + years’ experience as designer at a leading ad agency, design studio, or corporation (corporate experience a plus)

•            Experience working with outside agency design groups in collaborative design development and execution

•            Strong, conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of design capabilities including a solid background in print, branding, typography, collateral, multimedia, direct, events, signage, and web; product icon and GUI development and enhancements are a plus

•            Experience developing and authoring brand guidelines

•            Open and receptive to design critique, but also able to represent their own work and stand up for design they believe in

•            Resourceful, quick thinker with the ability to develop multiple concepts and solutions on a tight schedule, especially under narrow parameters or strict budget restraints

•            Possess solid presentation, listening, and communication skills

•            Must work well in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary collaborative environment

•            Able to focus, with a keen attention to detail

•            Ability to handle a high-volume environment with rapid turnaround times and manage multiple tasks and project details

•            Demonstrate strong organisational skills

•            Strong time management skills and solid work ethic

•            Able to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision

•            Advanced user of graphics design programs including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator

•            Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
