Job Title: Senior Patternmaker – Wovens
Employment Type: Freelance (Onsite Monday–Thursday, Work From Home Friday)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Patternmaker – Wovens to join a dynamic team. This role focuses on woven categories, including poplin shirts, pants, and blazers, supporting the creation of elevated, production-ready product with consistent fit, quality, and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop original, production-ready woven patterns for new styles, with a strong focus on poplin shirts, pants, and blazers.
- Translate design sketches, technical packs, and fit standards into accurate first patterns and subsequent revisions.
- Conduct fittings, evaluate fit and balance on body or form, and make precise pattern adjustments to achieve the desired silhouette, comfort, and performance.
- Ensure pattern accuracy for all woven garments, including seam allowances, construction details, and finishing methods appropriate to fabric type and end use.
- Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Technical Design, and Sample Rooms to troubleshoot pattern, fabric, and construction issues throughout the development cycle.
- Utilize digital patternmaking tools (preferably Gerber or Tukatech) to create, refine, grade, and maintain patterns for efficient handoff to production.
- Work within a Flex PLM (or similar) system to upload, track, and update pattern data, measurements, and technical documentation.
- Support fit consistency across woven categories by maintaining and evolving blocks, slopers, and grade rules as needed.
- Document pattern changes, fit comments, and construction notes to ensure clear communication with internal teams and vendors.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively within a close-knit team environment, contributing technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on patternmaking experience with a strong focus on woven apparel (poplin shirts, pants, and blazers required).
- Expert knowledge of garment construction, fit, and grading for woven product across multiple sizes.
- High proficiency in both traditional flat pattern and/or draping techniques and digital patternmaking systems; strong preference for experience in Gerber or Tukatech.
- Proven ability to conduct fittings, interpret feedback, and rapidly iterate patterns to final approval.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and quality craftsmanship.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work onsite in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Hybrid Schedule Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Friday.
