Job description

Our client a leading swimwear brand is looking for a Senior Supply Chain Analyst to join their time in a long term freelance capacity through March 2023. This role is hybrid onsite in Cypress - Onsite Tuesday - Thursday / Work from home Monday & Friday. The role is fulltime hours, 40 hours a week. 

KEY PURPOSE: 

To manage the operational performance for international transportation and that of selected third-party suppliers to ensure delivery of a best-in-class supply of product. Additionally, includes financial cost reporting for budgeting purposes.      

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze transportation and order fulfillment services through 3rd party transportation service providers for the North American market.
  • In conjunction with Global Shipping, direct, optimize, and coordinate carrier and mode selection to effectively analyze spend, quality, and service.
  • To take analytical responsibility for the region’s annual volume of 4,000 TEUs and ad-hoc airfreight, working with the key business stakeholders in setting and delivering solutions.
  • Collaborate with Commercial and wider Supply Chain teams to drive system and operational improvements that will improve transportation efficiencies.
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders most notably Commercial, Ops, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, and operate effectively with cross functional teams to deliver results and long term relationship building.
  • Manage quarterly KPI performance review with Customs Broker, Freight Forwarder, 3PL, Trucker and Rail provider to improve speed to market. Driving continuous improvement in service, cost, and speed to market.
  • Monitor timely ASN’s are processed in SAP and analyze/solve any ASN discrepancies at the factory or 3PL level.
  • Process sea freight, airfreight, and sea/air shipments within our SAP project builder program.
  • Responsible for identifying and planning seasonal peaks with 3PLs and the relevant business areas to protect product availability and minimize cost.
  • Manage the standard operating procedures for all operations on existing and new routes to market ensuring they reflect changes to agreed ways of working as well as any statutory requirements in conjunction with Supply Chain and Customs teams.
  • Monitoring the shipping industry and keeping the stakeholders informed of key developments
  • Drive increases in consolidation activity in Asia (CFS).
  • Keep track of quality, delivery commitment times, transport costs and efficiency and conduct routine business reviews to address service failures with carriers.
  • Ensure that merchandise is delivered to distribution centers in accordance with service level agreements
  • Monitor vendor billing, including transportation and general processing expenses.
  • Drive proactive load planning and optimize shipping lanes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in domestic transportation and logistics network planning
  • Must be analytical and data driven.
  • Must possess knowledge of import operations and warehouse systems.
  • Organizational, communication and follow-up skills
  • Strength in problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency
  • Knowledge of SAP/Infor Nexus is a preference but not essential
  • Strong numeracy and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Suite
  • Advanced level Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW) preferred
  • Ability to prioritize own workload and ability to work unsupervised.
  • The ability to compile relevant reporting accurately and effectively to management and colleagues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organized, self-motivated and able to adapt to the ever-changing supply chain environment
  • Able to be a team player
  • Perform additional duties when required.
