Our client, a full service creative agency has an immediate need for a seasoned YouTube/Google Digital Video Buyer. This a 3 month freelance role 40 hours a week) with potential to extend. Must be able to go onsite in the LA office once a week or as needed.
From account setup to trafficking, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things Google Video across tiers – Awareness, Consideration, and Action. You’ll collaborate across strategy, creative, analytics, and client teams to deliver audience-first, performance-driven campaigns that elevate brand storytelling and drive measurable results.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: • Discipline Development: o Build and scale the agency’s YouTube/Google Video buying practice o Define operational workflows, trafficking protocols, and campaign QA standards o Train internal teams on platform capabilities and best practices • Platform Execution (Google Ads & YouTube): o Set up and manage Google Ads accounts, including video-specific configurations o Build campaigns across YouTube placements (in-stream, bumper, discovery, etc.) o Implement audience targeting using first-party, affinity, and custom intent segments o Manage pacing, delivery, and performance in real time • Media Planning & Buying: o Translate strategic briefs into tactical media plans with clear KPIs o Forecast budgets, reach, and performance benchmarks across YouTube and Google Video o Execute buys with precision across DV360 and Google Ads platforms • Trafficking & QA: o Traffic creative assets, tracking tags, and ensure flawless campaign launches o Conduct pre-launch QA and troubleshoot delivery issues o Maintain documentation of campaign setups, learnings, and optimizations • Optimization & Reporting: o Monitor performance and implement optimizations (creative, targeting, bidding) o Deliver insights and performance reports to internal teams and clients o Collaborate with analytics to refine attribution and incrementality measurement
Qualifications: • 7-10+ years of hands-on experience buying YouTube/Google Video media • Deep expertise in Google Ads, DV360, and Campaign Manager • Proven ability to manage $20M+ budgets at the National and Local level • Strong understanding of video KPIs (CPV, VTR, CPM, brand lift, etc.) • Experience with trafficking, tag management, and creative specs • Bonus: Experience with cross-platform video strategy (TikTok, Meta, CTV)
