Job Title: Strategic Planning Lead
Location: Remote- must be located 100 miles of NYC, Culver City, Cupertino, or Seattle
Duration: 12 month contract- 40 hours/weekly
Pay Rate: $90.00-$93.00/hr
Role Overview:
Looking for an experienced strategic planning lead to translate market insights and business objectives into actionable strategies, ensuring marketing efforts are not only impactful today but also poised for sustained growth over the long term. Your work will directly influence fiscal planning, program incubation, and the rigorous measurement of our global marketing initiatives.
As the strategic planning lead, you will ensure new marketing initiatives are rigorously developed from incubation to maturity, are managed to maximize business impact through structured planning frameworks, and are resourced appropriately through effective forecasting & prioritization. You will play a key role in long-range and fiscal planning cycles, informing where and how to best optimize marketing investments, while also delivering on day-to-day responsibilities to ensure marketing’s contributions are on pace to deliver against our committed goals.
Key Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in strategic planning, business or marketing strategy, or related functions, preferably within the technology, digital media or gaming industries
• Demonstrated expertise in fiscal planning, budget management, and financial forecasting in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Strong foundation in research methodologies, experiment design, and extracting actionable insights from data
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing ambiguity
• Proven ability to translate macro trends and market dynamics into strategic recommendations and marketing opportunities
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for audiences ranging from individual contributors to senior leadership
• Comfort with both quantitative analysis and qualitative research; strong analytical mindset paired with strategic thinking
• Experience with marketing measurement frameworks and modeled measurement
• Knowledge of digital marketplaces, developer ecosystems, and platform economics a strong plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field
• Familiarity with marketing measurement frameworks, attribution models, and analytics tools
• Track record of successfully managing complex budget processes and financial forecasting
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the fiscal planning process by evaluating global opportunities, informed by macro trends, market-specific needs, marketing capabilities, and priorities, while sizing contributions towards business objectives.
• Partner closely with Data Science & Analytics teams to monitor performance pacing, recalibrate fiscal year targets based on marketing campaign and initiative optimization, and other macro activity requiring re-forecasting.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive insights roadmap, ensuring that marketing initiative outcomes consistently inform and accelerate strategic planning, innovation, and impact.
• Provide regular, insightful updates on fiscal year budget and business impact, addressing optimizations, identifying gaps, and surfacing new opportunities.
• Drive third-party marketplace and developer research initiatives to inform strategic planning and the incubation of new programs.
• Oversee the application of business KPIs for marketing reporting, ensuring marketing activity aligns with and verifiably impacts the business.
• Manage the budget challenge process in partnership with marketing leads, budget operations, and finance teams.
• Support the design of how new programs will be evaluated, forecast their impact, and align those forecasts with a rigorous measurement approach tied directly to business impact.
