Overview
Seeking an experienced end-to-end lifecycle marketer with a passion for growing consumer subscription businesses. The Subscription, Marketing Strategist will work with a wide variety of functional teams, including central marketing, engineering, product, data analytics, design, and business stakeholders. You will be responsible for creating programs that connect with customers in a privacy-friendly way to drive sign-ups and engagement, ensuring they are getting the most out of their subscription service.

Location: Remote (must reside within 100 miles of NYC to qualify**)
Rate: $65-79/hr
Duration: 12+ months (W2 employment, eligible for benefits)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include integrated media strategies and developing and optimizing acquisition and retention strategies for various subscription services, including:

  • Support national brand awareness and performance campaigns with a specialized focus on Social, Digital, Custom Partnerships, Audio, CTV, and OOH.
  • Build comprehensive briefs, review media plans, and consolidate information from various channels to ensure a cohesive customer experience with all attributions considered.
  • Create clear and concise leadership presentations for stakeholders.
  • Build cross-functional relationships and plans to improve performance against meaningful metrics, with a focus on experimentation and optimization.
  • Collaborate with teams in different time zones, including central marketing, engineering, product, data analytics, design, and business.
  • Develop a process of continuous improvement where results are analyzed and insights are fed back into plans.
  • Define overall customer journeys from acquisition to churn, including retargeting strategies.
  • Develop and optimize acquisition and retention strategies for subscription services.
  • Optimize programs through A/B testing, including ideation and development of strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights and strategies to engage customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading lifecycle marketing programs, ideally for a consumer subscription business, with demonstrated success achieving growth goals.
  • 5+ years of media planning and strategy experience.
  • Experience testing and optimizing multi-channel marketing (including ads, social, push notifications, email, and in-app messaging tactics).
  • Strong project management capability with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Deep understanding of A/B testing and data-driven optimization marketing.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and gain consensus while balancing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Analytical problem solver with a track record of developing and optimizing marketing strategies and programs that drive customer engagement and retention.
  • Familiarity with traditional media channels (OOH, TV), digital advertising, and social media platforms and how they work together in integrated campaigns.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with creators or within the creator economy.
  • Communications and audience strategy experience.
  • Proficiency with syndicated research sources (e.g., MRI/Simmons, comScore) and social listening tools.
  • Thorough understanding of integrated marketing and how to integrate with product experiences, design, business, marketing, engineering, and stakeholder teams to clarify program goals, strategy, and execution.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate a strong point of view clearly and succinctly to both senior executives and individual contributors.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong working partnerships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively under pressure, with experience on complex, international, large-scale, time-critical projects.
  • Outstanding cross-functional team working skills, with an ability to collaborate closely with other teams to solve problems and implement programs that achieve core business objectives.
