For the past three decades, this institution has served as a catalyst for practical and scalable solutions to global challenges by connecting human, financial, and educational resources to those who need them. We leverage this expertise and insight to construct programs and policy initiatives. These activities are designed to help people build meaningful lives so that all can experience health, well-being, education and gainful employment.  We help provide access to resources required to expand opportunities for individuals and their broader communities. The Institute’s events and programmatic activities involve the exchange of ideas with leaders from around the world. The Institute hosts more than 200 events each year, with our annual flagship event, Global Conference, bringing together 4,500+ participants from around the world.  Our Global Conference features more than 900+ speakers throughout 200+ sessions over the course of the event.

Next year, the institute will be opening a museum in Washington, DC to visitors from around the world. The museum will contain interactive exhibits and state-of-the-art technology focused on the dynamic story of the America Dream. The Center will also host an extensive online community with virtual exhibits. The museum is focused on inspirational and educational programming, exciting research about economic and social opportunities, and will include global competitions.  The ideal at the heart of the American Dream speaks to the aspirations of people everywhere: No matter who you are or where you come from, you should have the opportunity to build the life you want to live. The Senior Technology Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological vision and infrastructure of the museum. As a brand-new museum, we are at the forefront of redefining how cultural narratives are presented and experienced. We seek to inspire, engage, and challenge visitors through dynamic exhibits and spectacular media performances that resonate with modern audiences. This role requires an experienced leader with a strong background in managing and executing innovative and immersive digital experiences with a passion for integrating cutting-edge technology into the museum’s core functions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of multimedia technology for in-person and remote experiences. 

Responsibilities:
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and managing multimedia systems, including high-definition video, interactive displays and sound systems. 
  • Expertise with live and remote performances, real-time video effects, and interactive audience experiences. 
  • Familiarity with live event production tools and software, including lighting control systems, sound mixing boards, and interactive media technologies, such touchscreens, motion sensors, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR). Experience with interactive exhibit design and implementation, ensuring seamless user experiences.
  • Experience in managing digital content platforms, including digital asset management (DAM) systems, content delivery networks (CDNs), and multimedia content production tools.
  • Proficiency in maintaining technology infrastructure including network systems, server management and data security.  Knowledge of technology scalability and integration to support evolving needs and growth.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues that arise during live performances or exhibit operation.
  • Leadership & Management: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing technology team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of technology staff.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for technology projects.
  • Ensure technology solutions are scalable, sustainable, and enhance the visitor experience.
  • Innovative creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for exploring new technologies and techniques.
  • Experience in providing on-site technical support and ensuring high reliability and performance of technology systems.
  • A track record of staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in multimedia and experiential technology.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with curators and exhibit designers to integrate technology seamlessly into exhibits and performances. Work closely with C-level leadership to align technology initiatives with organizational goals for a growing non-profit organization. Communicate technology needs and updates effectively to stakeholders, including senior management, board members, and external partners.
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a significant focus on cutting edge use of technology for in-person experiences.
  • Proven track record in managing complex technology projects for an entertainment industry or cultural institution.
  • Strong technical skills in multimedia systems, live performance technology, and interactive media.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Multimedia Arts, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
