Client Overview:

Role Overview:
The Retail Planner will be responsible for developing the “bottoms-up” and “top-down” sales plans for the North America retail channel for haircare, color cosmetics, and bodycare brands. This includes, but is not limited to, providing analytical support for the Sales Team as needed, developing a rolling 12-month sku-level forecast, and forecasting new launches, core initiatives, and special projects at the sku level. This role is responsible for providing regular sell-thru reporting and insights for the retail channel, in addition to sell-in financial forecasting. 

Retail Planner Roles and Responsibilities:

• Update actual shipments, forecast future sales, receipts, end-of-month and stock levels
• Identify risks and opportunities related to retailer inventory levels
• Look at inventory boosts based on assortments, launch dates, promotions, events, etc.
• Conduct inventory constraint analyses 
• Lead inventory meetings with retail teams
• Monitor orders and adjust as needed for any shortages or allocations
• Collaborate with supply to get orders on time in warehouse
• Provide and update OOS reports to all retailer partners 
• Partner with Retail sell-in teams for initial distribution plans, opening orders for new 
business, and replenishment plans on new product launches or new door openings
• Provide Supply Chain with sales trend and promotions activity driving demand
• Review and validate forecasts for one shots and limited editions, including phase-in and 
phase-out
• Develop forecasting analysis and make recommendation on any improvements needed, 
including reviewing and validating forecasts with business account partners
• Develop forecast accuracy metrics as required; review forecast vs. actual demand by sku on 
monthly or quarterly basis as necessary and make recommendations to revise as needed
• Review actual receipts in warehouse vs forecasts to identify stock discrepancies in the US
• RTV tracking and authorization, with adherence to budget plan and internal control 
procedure
• Conduct weekly sell-thru analyses for key accounts
• All other duties that may be assigned

Retail Planner Key Qualifications:
• 3+ years in planning or forecasting, retail environment a plus
• Strong analytical skills and ability to demonstrate logical analysis to address business 
challenges
• Expertise with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to filter and prioritize sources of information and identify emerging trends
• Previous experience in working cross functionally with all levels to complete projects
• Flexible and amenable to changes in a fast-pace, high growth environment. Must be able to 
multi- task while accommodating changing priorities.
