Job description

We’re seeking a talented, UX/UI Designer to join an experimentation software design team on a six-month freelance engagement. You’ll design high-impact internal tools used by tens of thousands of users, transforming complex requirements into intuitive, elegant experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Design UX/UI for high-value internal web applications and tooling
  • Translate product and stakeholder requirements into clear user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs
  • Apply and extend existing design systems and style guides to deliver clean, web-ready designs
  • Create a unified, highly functional vision from multiple stakeholder inputs
  • Define an ideal north-star experience and a phased roadmap to iteratively achieve it
  • Write clear, concise interface copy that supports usability and discoverability
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data teams in an agile environment
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in UX/UI or interaction design for web or software applications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, UX/UI, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong grounding in information architecture, interaction design, and usability best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to design for complex, data-rich, or internal tools
  • Excellent Figma skills (components, prototyping, design systems)
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS and familiarity with front-end implementation constraints
  • Exceptional attention to detail across layout, typography, interaction, and copy
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and collaborate with highly technical teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter mindset; customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player
  • Online portfolio required showcasing relevant UX/UI work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing UX/UI that incorporates AI-driven features or workflows
  • Comfort working with data, metrics, and basic statistics to inform design decisions
  • Experience collaborating with or working in JavaScript-based environments

What Success Looks Like

  • Delivering intuitive, scalable designs that make complex workflows simple
  • Creating alignment across stakeholders through clear visuals and documentation
  • Shipping iterative improvements while maintaining a strong long-term vision
  • Maintaining high design quality standards under rapid delivery timelines

If you’re passionate about crafting exceptional user experiences for complex internal products and have a strong portfolio to prove it, we’d like to hear from you.
