ASSISTANT DESIGNERPosition: Assistant Designer, working with a small team on a private label brand. The brand is a first of a kind owned brand for a mass retailer. It features a rotating partnership of style and cultural influencers each cycle. Many of the designs for this brand are more runway driven. Because of this, the new assistant designer should be someone who really loves fashion and is into trend. The influencer partner aesthetic will vary so having an Assistant that is trend driven is important.
Position Location: Mon - Fri onsite in Culver City, CA.
Salary: $50K - $58K dependent on experience.
Design Need: The team is currently three designers, we’re looking to add an Assistant to support them. The new Assistant needs to be someone who can jump in an perform all of the traditional assistant level responsibilities to round out the team.
Requirements:
• 1-3 years of experience
• Solid/exceptional CAD skills is critical; most important – they need to sketch really well
• Strong with Adobe - Illustrator is a must
• They will be working with lots of grids and spreadsheets (fabric, development, etc) – strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills – they will be communicating directly with retailer and development team in China
• Basic solid understanding of linesheets and techpacks is important, but not as critical as the bulletpoints above.
