Client Overview:

Our client has over 50 years of experience in the design and manufacturing of the latest trends in fashion from outerwear to sportswear and a strong expertise in leather. In addition to the highly popular lifestyle millennial brand Avec Les Filles, the Montreal-based company manufactures its own brand and it has a well-established full-service private label division. Clients include major retailers such as Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and a growing presence with online retailers and dropship customers.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an individual with a passion for fashion who wishes to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Associate Designer Responsibilities:

• Assist designers on creating brand right collections to reflect season trends and account needs

• Research the market and assist designer with market/trend research on new silhouettes, color, and fabrication.

• Track and organize development samples by following up with factories to ensure samples are received on time.

• Execute design sketches and tech pack with accurate specifications for fit, construction, fabrication, print, and color.

• Ensures adherence to the Seasonal Time and Action calendar.

• Work with the design team to select the new seasonal fabrics and trims based on the requested fabric construction and functional finishes

• Maintaining the fabric, trim and color library - Ensure fabric library is up to date for seasonal inspiration and archived fabrics

• Work closely with all suppliers to ensure development timelines are met

• Gather and evaluate fabric information 

Associate Designer Qualifications:

• Level of education: Bachelor's degree in fashion design

• Work experience: 1-3 years design experience (preferred)

• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel and all other Microsoft Office Applications

• MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ONSITE 5 DAYS A WEEK
