Job description

Reporting to the senior director of digital marketing, the associate director of website strategy and systems oversees the Foundation and websites as well as part-time and contract web employees and acts as a liaison to staff on web-related matters. Specific responsibilities and duties: ? Manage the organization’s websites and event registration system. This includes setting and executing strategy for all web properties, as well as maintaining and updating websites, assuring compliance with university, foundation, and legal requirements. The AD will also oversee creating landing pages, microsites, complex event registrations, fund links, and forms as needed. ? Assist with web redesign process for sites as needed, including evaluation of site functionality and aesthetics, vendor search and selection, collaboration across organization on business goals and audience needs, and implementation. ? Create event and website templates and other resources to empower brand ambassadors to promote programs and initiatives on behalf of the organization. Document, promote, and train partners on policies and best practices. train partners to make edits to web pages as needed. ? Ensure websites are updated in collaboration with the social media team and email team efforts and that website content aligns with leadership priorities. ? Assure that content advances priorities, attracts a qualified audience to the organization’s websites, converts site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content (including offers); and continues to nurture that audience to drive continued and increased engagement and philanthropy. ? Collaborate with SAC department staff and partners to create and maintain high-quality content around foundation and alumni association priorities. Ensure content addresses audience needs and values at varying stages of decision-making. Stay abreast of best practice in writing for the web and emerging trends in content development, personalized web content, and marketing automation. ? Establish, measure, track, evaluate, and report on analytics. Continually refine process to convert and steward audience and to identify and execute opportunities to improve the organization’s, brand’s, and brand content’s search rank for key terms. ? Manage and improve organic search engine performance and goal-setting based on click-through rates, traffic, and conversions. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes with Google Analytics, SEO, and major search engines. ? Manage the web team, including the part-time web coordinator and digital systems contract employee. ? Manage vendor relationships as needed. Qualities of the Ideal Candidate The Associate Director can be expected to have the following personal characteristics and professional qualifications: ? A B.A./B.S. in a related field and minimum of at least three years of web strategy and management experience, ideally at institutions of higher education or non-profits in an integrated advancement division. ? Experience growing an audience base by providing them with regular, helpful content that’s aligned with their needs, values, and interests. A dual-minded approach that demonstrates a high level of creativity and attention to detail including highly creative with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of tackling a heavy amount of writing and presenting/pitching. Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting and data analysis that demonstrate ability to be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions. ? Experience in and understanding of optimizing content management tools for user experience, event management tools, preferably CVENT or equivalent, and web technology (HTML, CSS). Experience establishing and maintaining system documentation, training materials, user trainings. ? The desire to work in a collaborative, collegial team environment. The ability to communicate efficiently with a variety of foundation and university partners to identify important themes and messages. ? Experience with the following platforms and skills: Wordpress, HTML/CSS, Google Analytics. ? Experience with CVENT, Pantheon, Google Data Studio, Accessibility coding, GDPR, and US marketing laws is preferred but not required.
