Associate Textile Designer

 

*Must work On-site in Culver City. 

Responsibilities

  •  Collaborate with design team to modify artwork purchased from print vendors or vintage resources as needed. This includes all-over prints, stripes, plaids, yarn dyes, embroideries, and occasionally graphics. 
  • Oversee artwork development from initial creation or sourcing/purchase through bulk production approval stage
  •  Prepare artwork for production by color separating, cleaning, and putting into repeat
  •  Generate pitch sheets for China development team with measurements and color standard specifications, in accordance with production capabilities  
  • Help maintain and organize Archroma and Pantone color libraries, and be point-person for color questions
  • Use Archroma/ Pantone color standards to color match artwork to existing samples and recolor artwork
  • Partner with design team to create seasonal color palettes using Archroma and/or Pantone
  • Manage all artwork for various accounts according to production schedule, generate print codes & artwork names and create print development spreadsheets to share with internal team
  •  Review strike-offs with design team and clearly communicate all comments and updates to the China development team
  • Set up and maintain organized, account specific binders with all developed prints for each design cycle
  •  Make sure all work is adhering to design calendar(s) and deadlines are being met in a timely manner
  • Research seasonal print trends and prepare reports (including shopping/retail) to share to design & merchandising teams
  • Communicate with print vendors for sourcing and purchasing artwork
  • Manage print archive of all purchased and internally created artwork 
  • Keep artwork-specific folders on shared drive organized for design team
  • Work with design team to create scaled versions of all artwork for CADs
  •  Drawing, painting, and illustration experience
  •  Knowledge of apparel design or construction a plus
