Essential Functions of The Position:
- Execute monthly buys as per the procurement calendar
- Build DA
- Manage Seasonal Comparison Sheet
- Oversee Channel communication as it pertains to data generation for Buys
- Understand the sales volume by product category and buy accordingly
- Analyze historical data and trends to project sales and inventory needs
- Balance growth plans with current sales trends
- Stamp actual sales and keep buy plan updated monthly
Inventory Planning:
- Work with Production on Capacity for materials and monthly output
- Analyze the health of the styles and keep inventory in line with sales trends
- Work with Marketing and Ecom to understand seasonal pushes that may present spikes that otherwise wouldn’t be there.
- Work with Product on dense or sparse product areas to maximize opportunities: this could be color, styling, SKU count within styles
- Share OTB with Finance
Calendar:
- Manage the Procurement Calendar
- Work with Procurement & Logistics to understand appropriate in transit times
- Keep calendar up to date as it pertains to Buys
- Share calendar with Product and Production Teams
Reporting:
- Create Buy Plan to include BOM, Sales, WIP, Returns 12 – 18 months out
- Triangulate sales projections with Finance, Sales and Product and share with Management
- Communicate your inventory position and buy plan to Management monthly
- Create SKU ranking report and share with Product to influence SKU management
- Report monthly on the Stock to Sales of Styles and make call outs to Sales, Product and Management
Position Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in related field required
- Minimum 5 years experience in consumer goods buying.
