Job description

Work directly with sales team to create concepts for sale as branded content and initiates regular team meetings with sales to pitch content ideas
Directly responsible for developing new ideas for content formats, including staying on top of sellable content marketing, social media offerings and digital products
Attends meetings with client in person and by phone to support the sales process
Must understand buying cycles of our markets so that content can be developed with precision to develop maximum leads, engagement, or deliverable required by client
Is a primary contact with the client to ensure content is on-message, on brand, and is moving through both internal and client facing departments smoothly, on time, and on budget
Contracts, cultivates, and manages a team of freelance writers who handle most custom content, including writing, project management, design, video and audio production. Ensures freelancers follow quality standards
Edits and proofreads content; writes on select assignments
Works with sales, marketing and operations teams to ensure all messaging around client content is actionable and continually performing. This includes copy development, design input, list recommendation, targeting recommendations, digital marketing techniques, and platform choice for optimal engagement
Continually testing – and reporting on – what is working in content marketing, what has momentum, what doesn’t work, and how we can improve
Determines best distribution methods for content. Works with Audience Development on list queries, determining social audiences that are appropriate, and knowing the online audience
Be well versed in internal systems, including the corporate CMS, Omail, Jira, Robohead, Asana (or internal project management system)
Should maintain personal expertise in the content marketing, interactive marketing, branded content and media field by reading industry newsletters, publications, websites, blogs, and follow thought leaders on social
Is responsible for communicating consistently with all sales teams and publishers and provides regular case studies, promotional material, and training
Regularly meets with editorial teams to stay plugged into market and scope new topics that can be developed into branded content
Is responsible for all projects meeting project milestones and budget and for communicating directly with sales when there are issues. Is ultimate responsible party for quality control
Serves as key contact with project team members to resolve project resource conflicts. Manages risk throughout the project cycle
Responsible for reporting performance for every program, including providing analysis to client and to team members to ensure continual improvement
Identifies emerging trends that can be developed into business for the company
Be continually researching tools to improve workflow, efficiency, and cost control

Related Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Project management experience in a creative and or sales environment
Writer, editor and marketer with experience in content creation related to sales results
Expertise in content marketing, interactive marketing, branded content and media
Able to travel to customer sites or events as required
CMS, Omail, Jira, Robohead (project management system) experience
Competence in online analytics tools and able to report results and suggest improvements (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Instagram Insights, SocialBakers, etc.)
