24 Seven is partnering with a well-known consumer goods brand based in Portland, OR to help them find a Copywriter to join their team in this hybrid position. To start, this will be part time hours the first 1-2 months and then ramp up to a 40 hour/week contract.Ideal Candidate: will have 5+ years of experience in copywriting, agency or in-house, ideally with consumer brand experience in the accessories, footwear and apparel space or other CPG brand.
About this Role:
This role will create in partnership with key leaders all written content for the family of brands, web properties and social media channels. You will be responsible for bringing the brand voice to life across all marketing needs from emails to social to product collateral. We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating clever, engaging copy across all channels (wholesale, eCommerce, socials, all of it).
Responsibilities:
• Create consumer-focused engaging, informative, and clever copy in the brand voices with the right tone. Create customer-facing sales often incorporating technical copy in the brand voices in the right tone.
• Understand and develop consistent messaging across all channels- from email to social media ads to website copy to catalog and long-form content.
• Work closely with marketing, product development, design teams and external partners to create on-brand and cohesive messaging to achieve business goals.
• Deliver all copy on time and error-free, edit and proofread. Exceptional attention to detail.
• Assist and execute the evolution of the brand, its narrative and competitive differentiation.
• Collaborate with various teams to help develop processes and improve workflow; establish efficient end-to-end copy processes and workflows.
• Proofread and edit copy to maintain accuracy, consistency, and adherence to our brand guidelines, and is culturally appropriate, while upholding a high standard of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Advocate for copy best practices while balancing business demands.
• Present copy in internal reviews and meetings with senior leadership, assuming responsibility that feedback is absorbed and actioned upon
Qualifications:
• Exceptional copywriting and copy-editing skills; writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• 5+ years of professional copywriting experience, agency or in-house, ideally experience working with consumer lifestyle brands in apparel, accessories and footwear with a relevant portfolio of published work & writing samples.
• Deep experience with narrative framework and messaging hierarchies.
• Experience in translating brand guidelines to one voice across many platforms – Social – Retail – Wholesale - Institutional – Websites. Ability to refine brand voice in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Time and Project Management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Comfort with shifting prioritization based on business needs. Experience using project management software to manage resources and deadlines
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; experience working cross-functionally along with the ability to work independently within deadlines.
• Creative problem-solving skills, solution-orientation and innovative thinking.
