Our client, a girls apparel brand, is looking for a Sportwear Designer for juniors apparel to join our team in New York City. As a (sizes) 7-16 Sportswear Designer you will be expected to familiarize yourself with all aspects of workplace design with the goal of growth and advancement.Associate Designer Responsibilities:
- Oversee research and inspiration to create a cohesive concept each season, review emerging trends and shapes, and research local markets
- Develop flats and sketches for all designs as part of a cohesive seasonal collection aligned with the brand’s overall aesthetic and vision
- Prepare all necessary components for design presentations, such as sketch boards, proto reviews, and production meeting preparation
- Collaborate with other Apparel Designers and various cross-functional teams and maintain strong business relationships with external partners
- Lead sample review sessions, provide recommendations, note feedback, and update sketches as necessary
Associate Designer Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience designing for a Juniors sportswear company
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design with a strong knowledge of garment construction
- Proficient in Photoshop/Illustrator
- Sample Room experience/familiar with garment center
