Designer, Knit Bottoms

Our client is looking for a Designer with Knits bottoms experience. This role will be On-site in Los Angeles, CA. Vaccination required.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with Creative Director in research and inspiration to identify emerging trends and shapes

• Responsible for creation, development and execution of materials, sketches, prints, and trim for all categories

• Develop flats and sketches for all designs aligned with brand’s overall aesthetic and vision

• Prepare all necessary components for design presentations, such as sketch boards, proto reviews, and production

meeting preparation

• Attend proto review sessions, note feedback, and update sketches as necessary

• Create and maintain linesheets

• Print development – work with print vendors to create artwork and set up print detail sheets for factories

• Create tech packs for initial proto development

• Responsible for following through fabric strike offs & approvals in partnership with Product Development

• Domestic development – work closely with in-house patternmakers, cutter, and sample makers

• Manage sample room workflow

• Issue sample fabric POs

• Daily communication with domestic and overseas vendors

• Collaborate with various cross-functional teams and maintain strong business relationships with external partners

• Participate in regular team meetings to reinforce close communication on design-related processes and related

matters

• Adhere to design calendar deadlines and timelines; ensuring all designs are completed accurately and on time

• Research marketplace, including our competitors for inspiration and product opportunities

 

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5 years of design experience

• Must have KNIT bottoms experience, cut & sew, some jackets - Juniors and Missy experience

• Knowledge of fabric, fit, construction and execution of a garment

• Understanding and experienced with Product Development from sketch to final approval

• Highly proficient in Illustrator, photoshop, and excel

• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills

• Team player with a sense of ownership and accountability

• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skill

• Ability to establish good relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams

• Should have an thorough understanding of both branded and private label

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Great attitude needed, and able to work in a fast paced environment

• Bachelor’s degree in fashion preferred
