Job description

Our Digital Asset Librarian is key to the success of our team! This role ensures our creative team has fast access to the most current, approved creative assets needed to deliver our marketing materials. In this role, you will own the overall strategy, implementation and workflow of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. You will be instrumental in building our first team-wide, including vendor selection, designing our metadata strategy, and the training of our team. To be successful in this position, you should be a self-directed, hands-on implementer, and an excellent teammate who brings organization (and delight!) to every project.

Responsibilities:

•    Partner with IT, our Creative Operations Manager; developing the strategy and long-term infrastructure
•    Craft intuitive metadata strategy and standards; digital asset cataloging, required file naming conventions, and build a comprehensive matrix of groups, permissions, taxonomy, keywords, controlled vocabularies, and authority lists
•    Define usage rights terminology in the system and train users on the importance of adhering to usage rights restrictions—ensuring accurate usage rights for all assets
•    Run and consistently monitor the systems to review that assets are accurately categorized and align with archiving standards
•    Act as the key liaison between our designers with regard to images, illustrations, video content, and archiving
•    Develop, implement, and update detailed documentation of our system
•    Responsible for user support of the platform by answering user questions, troubleshooting, and resolving standard user issues
•    Generate asset download reports showing who/what/where/when assets have been used
•    Keep informed of the latest  technology trends, innovations, and standards
•    Work closely with our vendor to troubleshoot bugs and system requirements

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
•    Strong time management and social skills, with the ability to prioritize a large volume of work efficiently with tight schedules
•    Proven experience working with metadata and taxonomy, ideally with a large Digital Asset Management (DAM) or Media Asset Management (MAM) system desirable
•    Experience at a creative agency preferred
•    Additional skills required include time-management, an eye for detail and problem-solving
•    Shown ability to build relations and work optimally across many partners
•    Shown experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
•    Strong desire to work with a fun, creative, and entrepreneurial team
