Position Summary:

The Global Director of Artistry & Education is responsible for establishing, updating, and training on our clients makeup look. The includes helping to develop new products formulas, shades, ingredients, applications and educational tools; creating brand educational and selling tools to help professional partners, International stockists, online retailers and consumers better understand the skin loving benefits of our clients products in a simple yet comprehensive fashion; managing a team of global makeup artists to deploy our message, artistry and education.

 

The Director of Artistry and Education (DOAE) essential responsibilities include:

Product Development input

o 3PM product assessment

o Portfolio gap filling recommendations

o Product evaluation

o Shade recommendations

o Ingredient recommendations

New product launch education

o Product launch training

o Skincare & Ingredient science and explanations

o Competitive assessment: positioning, superiority / comparison

o Resource to website team in developing FAQ and other responses

o Launch webinars for team (1-3/launch)

o Innovation webinars for partners (3-5/launch)

Content Creation

o Consult on product mixes and cross shopping recommendations

o Train on application techniques and tips

o Video/image asset development

o Collateral development resource (schools, treatment room materials, etc)

Brand Artistry philosophy

o Artistry philosophy: Evolution of the company's look

o Skincare Makeup System: evolution of the core makeup system – how to apply, which products, why important

o Develop product category artistry philosophy – signature eye, lip, bronze, etc.

Lead educator for International

o Onboarding

o Webinars

o Launch Trainings

o In market visits when needed

- Training Manuel Management

o Brand philosophy explanation

o Skin concern focus with product regimen

o Get the look (eyes, etc)

o New product launch explanation

PR

o Editor Desk sides- 2-3/year

o Live event support with press/MUA/Editors 1-2/year

o Media opportunity responses - 5-6/month

o Vendor training and onboarding

o Consult with MUAs/IG Live- 1-2/month

o Celebrity/PR worthy MUA relationship building

Manage global education team

Planning/ Yearly Budgets: DOAE will work closely with the VP of Global Marketing and channel leads on creating and maintaining annual education calendar and yearly budget. This includes all expenses for airfare, hotel, product shipments, and any other travel expenses.

 

Educational University Program - DOAE is responsible for updating all outlined curriculums and PowerPoints for the company's university program.

 

Webinars: DOAE is responsible for creating the monthly webinar schedule, modifying content as needed for global markets, maintaining, and sharing the recording documents, and preparing post attendance recap.

 

National/eCommerce Accounts

• Works with NA/eComm manager to create and implement education plan

• Support market meetings and aid in strategy for events

 

Digital Marketing Support

• Social media contribution

• Content creation

• Oversees support of all corporate digital initiatives

 

Makeup Artist Programs

• Training and onboarding all artists to ensure brand consistency.

• Works with CBA Manager and sales team to ensure all qualifying partner doors receive artist support.

• Create training material for all innovations

• Attends photoshoots and reviews all artistry to ensure brand look is achieved

 

Qualifications:

 

Education and Experience:

High School diploma required, Bachelors or Associates degree preferred

Five or more years of experience managing an education department

Cosmetic or esthetic teaching experience necessary

Platform education and public speaking skills needed

 

Other Skills and Competencies:

PC literacy in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

Outstanding presentation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Problem solving orientation

 

Physical Skills:

- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and move up to 75 lbs. occasionally

- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time

- Ability to frequently reach, grasp, climb, bend, squat as needed
