Role Overview:
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Account Director to join our growing Beauty Division. An individual in this role will have a minimum of 8 years’ beauty PR experience, substantial industry knowledge and passion for cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, hair care and related beauty categories. Candidates will have strong relationships with beauty media (consumer, trade and digital) and influencers including makeup artists, hair stylists and aestheticians. A true team player and committed mentor, this individual will be collaborative and eager to share ideas and information with all offices and teams.
 

Responsibilities:
• Execute day-to-day public relations efforts managing both daily client and media communications
• Develop compelling PR programs that drive brand awareness and purchase behavior.
• Strategic planning and execution of outreach plan with little to no changes from the Vice President
• Proactively outreach to key long and short lead, online and trade media outlets to secure features and product coverage
• Develop and manage relationships with key influencers and experts (i.e., makeup artists, hair stylists, beauty influencers)
• Conceive of creative pitches and lead team brainstorms
• Develop, write, and edit PR materials
• Ensure editorial results support client objectives and weekly and monthly status reports are filed in a timely fashion
• Lead ideation to execution of virtual and in-person events that deliver on brand vision managing the oversite of both internal team and outside vendors
• Build relationships across our client’s office and with beauty teams in all international markets.
• Oversee the management of sample ordering and replenishment.
• Able to lead, encourage, mentor, and develop junior staff members

Requirements:
• Minimum 8 years’ beauty PR experience, ideally with prestige brands
• Bachelor’s degree
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong editor
• Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Highly creative and engaged in contemporary culture (i.e., music, restaurants, fashion, design)
• Sets goals, monitors and reviews plans and prioritizes tasks effectively
• Accomplishes tasks accurately and thoroughly with strong follow-up skills
• Self-starter who takes ownership of projects without supervision
• Confidence to train and direct the work of Account Assistant, Coordinators and Managers.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Cision, FGPS
• Open to domestic and international travel
