Our client is a well known beauty company and they are looking for a strong Director of Ecommerce Merchandising in LA!! They are one of the fastest growing global beauty focused, ecommerce company.

The Director of Ecommerce Merchandising is responsible for developing the overall site merchandising strategy for their website, focusing on optimizing revenue, conversion, and customer engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the merchandising function including but not limited to - sharing out business results, assortment/catalog effectiveness, pricing and promotional strategy/execution, reporting and analysis, etc.
  • Responsible for crafting and delivering digital merchandising strategies that increase engagement, conversion and overall site performance.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of key site metrics vs KPIs (traffic, conversion, engagement), sometimes partnering with Data & Analytics team to enhance or create reporting
  • Strong cross-functional partnerships with Data & Analytics, Creative, CRM, and Marketing teams
  • Work closely with the development team to build out solutions to automate digital merchandising
  • Define and manage appropriate site navigation, filtering, category management, and product assortment for optimal customer discoverability, purchase path flow and product positioning
  • Act as key leader in overall ecommerce business planning to develop site content and activation calendar
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to provide the optimal landing experience for customers driven to site through marketing campaigns
  • Lead A/B testing roadmap, execute/ measure/ report out on tests – and interpret results to fold into future learnings/ changes to content/ messaging/ merchandising strategy
  • Manage a Digital Merchandiser manager, providing training and guidance on approved merchandising strategy
  • Analyze data daily to optimize the customer experience and makes suggestions to improve conversion rates
  • Works directly in eCommerce platform tool (Shopify) to create product grids for promotions, email, social or other marketing needs
  • Participates in defining and refining the online shopping experience, including site architecture, taxonomy, browsing and buying features, product views and details, and other key eCommerce elements
  • Optimizes internal search through in-depth analysis and awareness of product selection adjustments
  • Develop and lead content pages, landing pages and educational pages about our core product line
  • Identify revenue and brands’ opportunities for products. Provide feedback loop to product development around what is selling, not selling to create quantifiable input on product assortment.
  • Provide insight and direction of product assortments by partnering with the Sales and BI teams. Review pricing and promotional events to ensure adequate supply of products
  • Own and manage site calendar: pricing, markdowns, promotions and global calendar
  • Partner with graphic design team to ensure quality assets that optimize conversion and are “on brand” What we are searching for:
  • Quickly understand the shopping behavior and develop a strategy and plan to optimize customer experience.
  • Drive deep analysis of our product category sales performance and develop models to help increase sales and collaborate with the planning team on open to buy and inventory positions.
  • Identify short- and long-term opportunities and priorities to drive profitable revenue growth. Implement changes that maximize conversion and basket growth
  • Evaluate and identify key innovation priorities, establish action plans and progress key projects.
  • Define and exceed core KPIs for participation growth, sales growth, and ROI
  • Customer focused - focusing every problem and solution on how it impacts the customer and striving constantly to improve the customer experience
  • A data junkie - because unless we measure it, we don't know if it works

Required Skills:
  • Must have 7+ plus years’ experience working in E-Commerce Merchandising + experience managing a team
  • Demonstrated success leveraging data to drive business results
  • Ability to build a daily plan that rolls up to weekly/ monthly revenue target
  • Strong ability to develop structured frameworks and approaches AND innovative thinking to solve ambiguous problems in a fluid environment
  • Analytical thinker with ability to drive metrics and benchmarks to ensure continuous improvement in process and results Excellent listening, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills: ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlines
  • Must be entrepreneurial, creative, trend forward, and operational astute
  • Deep understanding on how to optimize teams to meet the ever-growing demands of a fast-paced environment.
