Director, Retail Marketing Overview:

As the Director of Retail Marketing, you will lead strategic marketing initiatives for Wholesale partners in the Americas region to meet sales goals and drive brand awareness, customer acquisition and growth in all retail partners. In this role you will lead a team of retail marketing professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship. As the Director of Retail Marketing, you are a self-starter who is detail-oriented, accountable, and organized, adept at balancing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.  

 

Director, Retail Marketing Responsibilities: 

  • Lead retail marketing planning and execution for wholesale customers from strategy to execution, including merchandising strategies, promotional activities, new product launches and animations. 

  • Manage and negotiate digital activations, in-store placements, animations, and additional strategic support with each retailer to build robust digital exposure and customer experiences. 

  • Partner with the retailers’ marketing teams to build impactful programs and maximize ROI. 

  • Develop and present marketing calendar and programs to retailers.  

  • Collaborate with the Global & Regional Marketing team to translate global and regional brand plans into channel & retailer-specific activations.  

  • Create, prepare, and maintain marketing budgets.  

  • Partner with Global Marketing and advocate for retailer business needs on products, packaging, sampling, collateral, and media programs to support launches and core products.  

  • Drive and analyze research category trends and insights to develop long-term product innovation and activation strategy. 

  • Identify trends and market needs across US and international markets. 

  • Analyze new launch and marketing program performance to deliver both quantitative and qualitative feedback to measure ROI for future enhancements.   

  • Manage all creative and merchandising requests/briefs to ensure timely development and optimal effectiveness of all marketing programs, visual merchandising, and collateral materials.  

  • Collaborate closely with Global Marketing & Creative teams to ensure retailer marketing and in-store presentation are fully supported in line with the brand strategy and that best-in-class content is delivered.  

  • Plan and build presentations for retailer Market Weeks and ongoing meetings, including and not limited to new product innovations, brand strategies and focuses, media, social and PR strategies. 

 

Director, Retail Marketing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent  

  • 7-10 year’s relevant Marketing experience, beauty experience is a plus.  

  • Proactive strategic and critical thinker with ability to take initiative, anticipate next steps and offer recommendations.  

  • Strong leadership, analytical, oral, and written communication skills  

  • Customer-centric mindset, in tune with evolving consumer and market shifts  

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop direct report(s)  

  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
