Director of Sourcebook CopyOur client is seeking an experienced and exceptional leader become the Director of Sourcebook Copy. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented editors and collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure accuracy and consistency in their sourcebooks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of editors in writing, editing, and proofreading sourcebook copy for both print and digital platforms.
- Become an expert in our client’s style and brand voice, including knowledge of products, copy attributes, industry trends, and competitor content.
- Ensure accuracy of information and compliance with style guide and brand standards through meticulous copyediting and proofreading.
- Serve as the lead copywriter for multiple sourcebooks throughout the year, working closely with merchant partners to gather information.
- Collaborate with partners to develop sourcebook copy schedules, establish priorities, assign contributors, and meet deadlines.
- Support the VP of Brand Copy with high-level messaging strategy and creative copywriting as needed.
- Develop familiarity with our client’s products across all categories to ensure thoroughness and accuracy in copywriting.
- Maintain the client’s style guide and word list for consistency across all communications materials.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in copyediting. Retail/home furnishings experience or luxury retail experience highly desirable.
- Prior leadership experience with a proven ability to create a supportive working environment
and motivate others.
- Excellent writing skills along with strong attention to detail,
copyediting expertise,and proofreading abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills
and ability to prioritize tasks effectively while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal
and written communication skills enabling effective collaboration within teams
and stakeholders at different levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat,
and Google Suite.
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings during deadline periods.
