ROLE: Director of Supply Chain & Operations

LOCATION: In-Office @ Dumbo (Brooklyn), 3-4 days in office as needed

Our client is a, fast growing, artist lead, global make up brand, that is looking for a new Director of Supply Chain and Operations to join their team in Dumbo Brooklyn.

 

ABOUT THE JOB:

 

This position will lead the overall direction and the day-to-day functions of Supply Chain & Operations – responsible for implementing and overseeing all manufacturing and fulfillment tasks, including logistics of supply chain and QA for product and service. Key internal partners include NPD, Creative & Brand Operations, Finance & Operations, and Commercial, and key external partnerships include , labs/vendors, warehouse leads, and shipping/freight agents. This role requires someone who is organized and solution-oriented, that thrives in a growing environment to create structure and implement processes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Own the product-to-market overall timeline and act as liaison between Marketing, Manufacturing, Product Development, R&D, PDM, Packaging and Creative

? Oversee all production and fulfillment pipelines; Place internal product orders for the marketing and retail fulfillment.

? Monitor and track product components, packaging and finished goods shipments; Create and submit product POs for approval by CFO

? NPD: Negotiate pricing on and schedule transportation for components, packaging and finished goods; CORE: Monitor and renegotiate fulfillment shipping pricing for domestic and international orders

? Manage stock and partner with CFO/acting COO to manage the supply plan and relationship with 3rd party and ensure accurate inventory levels for new and core products

? Establish procedures for new product development and ongoing product reorders, ensuring timely roll outs of product within stage gate milestones

? Manage the relationship with Global-e (owner of international check outs)

? Partner with NPD to manage and communicate budgets and changes across production, packaging, and fulfillment; Review all supply vendor invoices for accuracy.

? Identify areas of opportunities to find efficiencies to improve operations.

? Liaise with PD and Creative in seeking out vendors for and presenting consistent upgrades to components, packaging, and formulas.

? Liaise with PD and Creative in ensuring health and regulatory laws are followed for product and packaging

? Communicate with the marketing department regularly on project statuses and comp/sample needs

? Track receipt of samples from labs and route to stakeholders for approvals.

? Notify Senior Brand Management of critical issues and appropriate next steps

 

REQUIREMENTS:

? 6+ years of experience in operations, with a proven track record of delivering efficiency around production and fulfillment.

? Ideally worked at a startup/ early-stage company as well as larger organizations, all within the beauty industry.

? Strong leadership skills and high emotional intelligence and maturity.

? Intellectually curious and highly logical, employing a goal-oriented and metrics-driven approach to solve problems and recommend solutions. Self-starter, with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

? Knowledge and understanding of diverse business functions and principles related to operations (supply chain, finance, product development, e-commerce, sales and marketing).

 

OTHER:

? Office: Requires up to 60-80% in-person presence at the brand HQ in Dumbo (Brooklyn), exact days to be determined with supervisor.

? Travel: Light travel may be required on an ad hoc basis, domestically and internationally, depending on the needs of the business.
