Our client a leading yogawear and active brand is looking for an ecommerce buyer and merchandiser to join their team! The role is full time direct hire and based in Irvine, candidates should be able to work in a hybrid capacity with some days onsite  and some days working from home.

General Summary

The  eCommerce Buyer and Merchandiser will be responsible for all aspects of buying process, including managing a multi-million dollar OTB, hindsight reporting, assortment planning and strategy for the eComm channel. This person will also build the merchandising experience, expand merchandising techniques and improve consumer site experience. The buyer/merchandiser will also manage the seasonal SMU and replenishment programs, inventory flow, sales and inventory analysis and markdown management. Strong communication skills are required: this person will work closely with cross-functional partners and vendors, and present go-forward strategies for the eComm business.

Essential Job Functions

•Execute and analyze weekly, monthly, seasonal and ad-hoc reports related to selling and inventory position

•Manage an open to buy, and develop a plan based on opportunities and risk to maximize sales while ensuring healthy margin

•Work with planning on building and utilizing seasonal buy files, assigning style attributes and size analysis to assist with finalizing the web buy

•Manage web inventory by entering seasonal web bulks and monitoring and adjusting reserve inventory as needed – including managing wholesale requests to release inventory

•Create differentiation through SMU product development

•Collaborate with the marketing team on building out the email calendar to ensure key stories are impactfully featured. Responsible for determining each story and choosing products to be featured and tracking delivery dates on all products to adjust calendar as needed

•Create and present seasonal catalogs briefs and collaborate with marketing on key stories and styles to be represented

•Build merchandise guides for seasonal eCommerce photo shoots by determining key styles and assets needed and managing the re-shoot list each season

•Provide direction on styles to seed to influencers each month and as special events or needs come up

•Responsible for maintaining all products on the site including product uploads, tagging, image audits, filter maintenance, copy coordination, category and color assignment, and site audits

•Maintain and merchandise site on a daily basis using consumer-centric strategy and collaborating with marketing team on product performance

•Determine first and further markdowns each month and track and analyze discount strategy for promotional periods

•Prepare landing pages for digital marketing campaigns (including email, search and social) that are curated based on trend and concept of campaign

•Support the business by using analytical insights to develop improvements for site optimization and user experience

•Provide clear and concise findings to cross-functional partners within the organization

•Monthly meetings with external partners / account managers (ie SearchSpring, Shopify, Studio Otto etc.) to discuss current business and future opportunities

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•End-to-end experience in apparel product development

•Experience building apparel SMU and replenishment programs

•Strong Excel and analytical skills to measure, manage, analyze and report on sales and inventory KPI's

•Experience managing an Open To Buy Required

•Experience working with eCommerce Platforms; Shopify a plus

•Ability to think both strategically and creatively

•Solution-driven problem solver

•Collaboratively work with cross-functional teams

•Ability to execute to timelines and provide timely solutions

•Experience with web analytics (Google Analytics) is a plus

•Experience within a vertical or multi-brand eCommerce environment in the apparel industry is a plus

 

Required Education and Experience

•3-5 years prior eCommerce or retail buying or planning experience in apparel
