Fabric R+D Associate
Client Overview:

Fabric Associate Overview:
As the Fabric Associate, you will be responsible for beginning stages of the design process by sourcing new fabrics, presenting new ideas and trends to the design team and partnering with suppliers and mills for the upcoming seasons.
Fabric Associate Responsibilities:
-Assists with providing new qualities to present to design and merchants for the season
-Attends fabric trade shows for seasonal trend research
-Requests all fabric details, regarding quality, construction, weight, price from overseas
-Assists with following up on fabric quality issues w/ cross functional partners
-Sends out seasonal development to overseas offices -cutting swatches, punching/weighing fabrics
-Receives and files newly adopted fabric hangers
-Organizes and constantly maintains fabric library
-Creates seasonal fabric development binders
-Maintains Running/Core quality binders
-Prepares packages to home and overseas offices
-Maintains fabric development charts- including updating prices, constructions, etc
-Creates and maintains design sample yardage charts
-Assigns raw material codes for new fabric developments
-Attends WIP meetings when necessary
Fabric Associate Qualifications:
-Minimum 2+ years in Raw Material field in apparel industry
-Bachelor’s Degree or industry experience that equates
-Knowledge of raw materials and apparel manufacturing process
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail VERY important
-Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, etc.), Outlook
