Role
We are a fast-growing health technology startup seeking a talented and experienced Lead User Experience Researcher to play a key role in shaping the future of our digital health products. As the Lead UXR, you will lead our user research initiatives, providing critical insights to inform the design and development of innovative healthcare solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, evaluate user experiences, and drive data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate has a passion for improving healthcare through technology and possesses a strong background in user research methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of user experience researchers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of research projects.
- Define research objectives, develop research plans, and establish appropriate methodologies to uncover user insights and validate product concepts.
- Conduct user research studies using various qualitative and quantitative methods, such as interviews, usability testing, ethnographic research, and surveys, tailored to the healthcare context.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate user research findings into actionable design recommendations and product enhancements.
- Utilize data analysis techniques to distill complex research data into meaningful insights, enabling evidence-based decision-making.
- Act as an advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding for end-users' needs.
- Plan and facilitate cross-functional workshops and ideation sessions to generate innovative solutions that address user needs and pain points.
- Present research findings, design recommendations, and user insights to internal teams, executives, investors, and other relevant audiences.
Qualifications
- Preferred but not required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in HCI, Psychology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
- Proven experience (6+ years) in UXR, ideally within healthcare, medical, or consumer technology.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex healthcare data sets, such as electronic health records, wearables, or health monitoring devices.
- Experience with usability testing, contextual inquiry, persona development, journey mapping, and other research techniques relevant to healthcare user experience research.
- Leadership experience with a track record of mentoring a team of researchers.
- Passion for leveraging technology to improve healthcare outcomes, and a strong commitment to user-centric design principles in the healthcare domain.
