Job description

24 Seven is partnering with a globally recognized, American heritage Retail Company to help them find a Material Developer to join their team in this hybrid, contract position based in Portland, OR. This is a 4 month contract with an ideal start date of 12/12-12/19.

This role is a hybrid model with (3) days onsite on campus in Portland, and (2) WFH/remote. Lots of flexibility here and would be open to primarily remote after a few weeks of training.

Job Description:

The Ticketing/Labeling Materials Developer is responsible for the development of new labeling and product ticketing, working with sources for adherence of Labeling/Ticketing to company and Legal Requirements according to product labeling standards for sourced and produced products, and assisting with Materials and Trim Development as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB - % of Job Overall

Ticketing and Care/Content Labels – 50%
• Review care/content, regulatory, and proprietary information for labels, hangtags, including execution of special vendor requirements and company preferences and as relates to formatting.
• Manage ICCL translations process and supplier database with internal and external resources including all communications to insure correct output from suppliers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to obtain Approval of all labeling/ticketing format, text and symbols and ensure compliance to necessary international formatting standards.
• Assist Product Development with proper assignment of garment care/content at style level for input into PLM.
• Assist PWM vendors in identifying items, locating shipments, procuring shipping documents, acquiring replacements, and other needs with regards to ticketing.
• Partner with necessary stakeholders including Merchandising, Branding, Product Development, Planning, and IT resources to facilitate new ticketing/labeling development thru outside label vendors, including setting up in business systems and managing communication to internal teams and suppliers.
• Provide Ticketing/labeling updates for QA/Vendor

Manuals to Product Integrity Manager. Branded Tags, Patches, Labels, and Packaging - 40%
• Assists with the development and approval of trims and non-PWM fabrics as needed.
• Maintain both physical and digital library organization for labels, tags, patches, and packaging.
• Support Marketing, Merchandizing, and Development by identifying and providing details about existing trim items.

Other Responsibilities – 10%
• Writes company processes for ticketing, labeling.
• Miscellaneous Projects related to Manufacturing and Product Development as assigned.

Core Expectations:
• Basic understanding of common material contents, constructions, and usage.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain processes.

Qualifications:
• Apparel/soft goods industry experience and knowledge of apparel/soft goods product labeling/ticketing development and execution Processes.
• Product knowledge in consumer soft goods, including Product and Materials Development.
• Understanding and ability to research of government regulations and international labeling standards as pertains to apparel and soft goods.

System Qualifications:
• Proficiency in computer software, including MS Windows and Outlook applications.
• Experience with CGS BlueCherry a plus.
