About the Role
The Visual Studio Freelancer role is responsible for all daily support functions within the Visual Merchandising Studio. The candidate will support Visual Merchandising managers relating to sample process, product organization, fixtures, seasonal floor-sets and showroom/stockroom maintenance. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, a team player and can maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support Studio manager in sample check-in process
- Organize and maintain current and post season samples for multiple divisions
- Communicate sample needs to visual managers
- Assist visual merchandising team with the floor-set process as necessary, providing support with product placement, fixture moves, steaming, and folding among other tasks
- Assist styling team with prepping samples, steaming and dressing mannequin forms
- Support marketing team with signage and overhead execution
- Participate in photography of storesets
- Maintain organization of the studio and all fixturing/shelving spaces
- Help organize and execute operational needs for the overall studio
- Act as point of contact for courier, repair and IT needs for studio
Who You Are
o Entry level understanding of visual merchandising in either a retail store or corporate setting
o Positive attitude and can thrive in a fast-paced environment
o Ability to prioritize work effectively and handle multiple competing demands
o Possesses tremendous organizational skills and attention to detail
o A self-starter who takes initiative
o Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including evening shifts
o Ability to travel within New York City to store and office locations on a daily basis
o Able to maneuver around the studio floor, stockroom and office and can lift up to 30 pounds
o Basic computer skills required: MS Word, MS Excel
