SENIOR BRAND MANAGER, BEAUTY

Position Summary

Oversee development and execution of industry-leading marketing strategy to support and elevate our client’s brand launches. Meet growth objectives and contribute to overall company goals across the launch and ongoing innovation pipeline. Drive forward best-in-class Retail Experience and brand 360° plans, with an emphasis on optimizing retail strategies.

 

Position Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled & passionate Senior Brand Manager with proven experience in consumer goods and beauty to join our marketing team. This is a unique brand-building opportunity for someone wanting to leave their mark in the industry. As a Senior Brand Manager, you are responsible for defining strategies and building annual consumer and channel brand marketing by understanding the consumer’s needs, customer and competitive landscape, business model metrics and market dynamics. You will spearhead the development and execution of marketing programs from ideation to launch, with ownership over the 360 marketing plan. This includes working on all areas of the launch – building brand awareness in market, overseeing the creation of all brand assets and educational content, close liaison with the retail partner and external agency partners.

This role is for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment with the ability to work autonomously.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy:

Set vision and define success for brand and brand projects. Lead development of brand strategy and annual brand marketing plans. This includes business objectives, consumer and channel strategies, and translation of strategies to the consumer through the marketing mix.

Business Results and Opportunity Assessment:

Analyze market and business to identify opportunities for growth, define strategies and ensure objectives are being realized. Exercise critical thinking to set high performance standards, measure for success, and adjust plans to deliver against growth agenda. Lead post-launch analyses with support from brand teams and cross-functional partners.

Business Plan and Project Management and Execution:

Define the business plan to deliver category and brand objectives. Manage all brand projects including, but not limited to, advertising, merchandising, promotions, and innovation to deliver on-time with executional excellence. Lead development of briefs that give focused direction to program teams/agencies to develop programs that build equity, drive household penetration and deliver business results. Plan and flawlessly execute launch 360 marketing programs - including, but not limited to, assortment, launch toolkits, competitive deep dives, and support of digital/social/website.

Creative, Content and Connections:

Build brand equity and create value with an ecosystem of creative content and seamless connections thru to commerce. Define brand equity, set clear briefs and develop creative behind big platform agnostic ideas. Oversee brand experience to seamlessly integrate across the consumer journey. Define data-based audiences, set content strategy and partner internally and externally to deliver communications objectives and strong marketing ROI.

Lead through P/L and manage budgeting:

Own and manage marketing budget, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and year end budget performance and delivery. Knowledge of P/L and cost management is an asset.

Skills & Capability Development:

Coach and develop Associate Brand Managers. Develop business objectives, performance, personal development, and training plans. Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance.

Cross Functional Management:

Partner with internal teams and external agencies to ensure all product/seasonal activations are planned/executed on schedule and to budget.

Champion the Brand:

Drive alignment strategy with senior management and key commercial stakeholders. Responsible for consulting with cross-functional partners and driving alignment across the organization. Participate in key sales and marketing presentations.

 

Qualifications And Requirements

5+ years of brand marketing/brand management experience; CPG experience from a Fortune 500 CPG corporation

Experience in product development from ideation, development and go-to-market

Strong beauty experience required

Problem solver who can deal with ambiguity

Have a passion for beauty and a genuine love for product

Creative & Strategic thinker; trend savvy.

Upbeat, positive, and professional attitude.

Great work ethic - must be organized, detail oriented, resourceful, and capable of prioritizing and juggling multiple projects at once to meet tight deadlines.

Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy.

Proactive approach to projects. Always thinking ahead, showing initiative and drive, problem solving and follow through.

Impeccable communication skills both verbal and written, with a high level of attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all levels of management, founders and retail partners

Thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment and open to change.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Strong presentation skills, experience, and comfort with presenting to team.

Ability to process IRI/NPD/ Nielsen data is a nice to have

Ability to analyze retail sales.

Team player mentality. Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities when needed.
