Job description

Our client, a well known global agency, is looking to add a Senior Director, People Functions and Operations to their team on an ongoing Fulltime basis, starting immediately. This role will report to the CPO and will be located in Chicago, with opportunity to to work a hybrid/WFH model.

Overview:

The Senior Director, People Function and Operations is a dedicated partner to the Head of Customer Development, Finance and Strategy. The focus of this role is to direct and maintain quality control across the People functions and operations.  

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Partners to build overall coordinated commercial people strategy to drive a high-performance culture driven by an inclusion core
  • Plays a leading regional role in the matrix for any dotted line reports, is a visible and vocal presence regionally that encourages confidence and provides mentorship
  • Brings the outside in through extensive external networks and connections in the region, delivers thought leadership both internally and externally, representing the brand as an employer of choice
  • Partners with both companies within brand on enterprise-wide relevant initiatives
  • Partners, coaches, counsels and expertly influences dedicated client groups across the organization and using a consultative approach
  • Leads as a cultural activist, providing leadership and a visible loud voice and presence to build, drive and bring to life culture
  • Encourage and challenges the People team to facilitate growth and development
  • Provides continuous improvement coaching to the wider team
  • Drives continuous business transformation and growth leading organization design for designated client groups and delivering ‘Fit to Grow’ activity where vital
  • Provides strategic leadership across the People Regional Operating Centre (ROC) to ensure business priorities are delivered against
  • Monitors the efficiency of the community practices (COE’s), ROCs and overall HR service levels ensuring that we are consistently delivering results at a high level
  • Provides dashboards, metrics and updates to key partners on progress on a consistent basis
  • Audits successful execution brings people priorities to life by engaging the COE’s and ensuring work is delivered with an agile approach
  • Responsible for defining regional DEI activity and reporting progress
  • Leadership of the Employee Engagement survey delivering insights across the business to the relevant People and business leads so actions can be defined
  • Supports the HAVI wide HCM implementation and acts as the org lead within this project

Skills and Experience:

  • Solid experience operating within a HR leadership role, engaging and influencing senior and departmental leadership to adopt People strategy
  • Experience of leading projects delivering HR leadership within a matrix organization in a similar industry
  • Solid experience leading HR operations and operational teams with a focus on effectiveness and agility
  • Experience leading as a vocal and visible leader who can embody culture and empower others
  • Experience applying an inclusion focus to People strategy, policy and processes, and can support leaders and managers to design for inclusion
  • Outstanding communication skills both in written and verbal form
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple layers of seniority including senior management, departmental heads, People teams and the wider population
  • Proven experience crafting and delivering presentations and recommendations to senior management with the capability to tailor sophisticated messages for different audiences in a manner that engages and inspires
  • Proactive beyond the call of duty with an adaptable and agile approach that instills confidence to both the business and People team
  • Results orientated and capable of setting clear direction, confident making decisions even in times of uncertainty and a role model for leading difficult conversations with an inclusive, human approach
  • Solid collaborator able to build connections across a matrix organization, capable of earning trust and collaborating across teams to deliver strategic solutions
  • Highly networked and facilitates building our brand externally, provides recommendations for relevant partners to support People and business initiatives
