I have another opening on my team that I’m looking for help filling. I’ve attached the job description for reference. It’s similar to the last position we hired but this is a senior level position. It is a fulltime position, initially being listed as temporarily remote (so we’re looking local first), This position fulfills the need for providing digital design expertise, online content, and support to OCP’s digital initiatives in a high capacity. The Sr. Digital Designer uses their design experience and technical abilities to develop and support all OCP brands through digital media, web design and online content. They are expected to design the highest level of creative projects from conception to completion. They are able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into digital design solutions, utilizing their education, experience and design skills. They are self-motivated and able to follow through on assignments independently with minimal daily management, but must be able to work in a collaborative, engaged, and team-oriented environment as well. The Sr. Designer’s contributions lead to the ultimate goals of increased brand awareness, online presence, and product sales while raising the bar creatively. Sr. Designers do not manage staff but are designated “senior” because of their authority in design decision-making, their ability to lead by example, mentoring to the less experienced designers, and providing back-up to the Art Director. 2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Briefly describe each major job function (those essential to achieving primary purpose of this position). Use specific active verbs that describe what the incumbent does (e.g., “composes...,” “edits…”, “analyzes…”, etc.) The Sr. Designer is responsible for creating the visual aspects of online content, websites and other digital media including infographics and video; that engage, attract and sell. The Graphic Designer is also involved in OCP’s Digital Product Development, providing digital assets, branding elements and other content/support as needed. They work collaboratively with colleagues outside of marketing that may involve additional meetings or making presentations in a group setting. They have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing their work and meeting deadlines. On all projects, the Sr. Designer must have the ability to ask questions and seek out information to ensure a good understanding of requests being made and the desired outcome. They will confer with managers to discuss and determine design solutions, clarify any outstanding issues, and will suggest improvements as needed. Additionally, they must… • Have the ability to receive a concept and turn it into several design options. • Work under and meet tight deadlines with changing and sometimes competing priorities. • Generate digital content and design solutions that are free of errors. • Assist with the development of creative standards and ensure adherence to those standards. • Maintain an archive of artwork, photos or other graphical elements used to support OCP 3. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Describe each marginal function (not essential to achieving the primary purpose) in the same manner as requested in Section 2 above. ALL POSITIONS include other duties as assigned. Sometimes the Graphic Designer will be asked to perform duties outside of their regular responsibility providing support to the division and the company. This may include special requests from HR, the Executive Staff, or other individuals. These projects should be taken on as schedules permit and should be directed toward the Art Director for pre-approval. They are expected to keep skills and industry knowledge current, as well as have the ability and willingness to quickly adapt to new technologies. The Sr. Designer may be asked to supply graphics, graphic advice or other elements to outside sources.
