Job description

Our client, a global consumer products company, has an opportunity for an experienced Senior PHP developer that will be working with our Magento team to upgrade and maintain the shopping cart application. The main tasks will be including to ensure that the last security patches are installed and existing functionality continues to work properly. The developer will also be in charge of upgrading Magento to the newest versions, developing new modules, and customizing Magento per Business needs.

Hybrid work environment: 2 days per week in office; 3 days optional to telecommute

Position Requirements:
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Knowledge and experience of PHP, MySQL, Javascript (JQuery / RequireJS / KnnockoutJS), React/Angular/Bootstrap, Agile Linux, and HTML5, CSS3 Frameworks
  • Must have experience in Web services, API, REST in PHP
  • Hands on experience with and solid understanding of the following
  • Building restful web services JavaScript / JQuery / RequireJS / KnnockoutJS AJAX/JSON HTML5, CSS3 Versioning tools (SVN, Git)
  • Strong object-oriented programming knowledge
  • Solid foundation in Computer Science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, software design and patterns
  • Very good PHP 7.4+ knowledge, preferably PHP 8.1 work experience Magento certification is definitely a plus

Responsibilities:
  • Regularly update to Magento 2 installation Install security patches, extensions, and module upgrades
  • Implement Magento front-end changes Perform optimization, extension customization, issue investigation, custom functionality builds etc. as per requirements
  • Integrate Magento with various of systems, vendors, platforms, and productions. Collaborate with other developers, QA, UX/UI designers, business analysts, and product owners
  • Monitor, and work on Magento infrastructure (servers, database, cache, aws etc..) as needed
  • Support eCommerce, marketing and business operation strategies
  • Test and resolve issues related to Magento
  • Attend sprint planning and retrospective meetings
