Technical Designer (Girls)
Client Overview: Our client is a leader in designing and producing high-quality, stylish, and affordable apparel for kids and young adults.
Position Overview: We are seeking a Technical Designer with 5+ years of experience in the children’s apparel industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in garment construction, fit, and specifications, with experience in Girls sizes required. This role requires someone who can work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring design concepts are translated into production-ready garments.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain detailed technical packages (tech packs), including construction details, garment measurements, and BOMs.
- Partner with design and production teams to ensure accurate execution from concept through final production.
- Conduct garment fittings, prepare fit comments, and communicate revisions to vendors and factories.
- Review samples to ensure quality, fit, and adherence to brand standards. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently with minimal oversight.
- Maintain consistency in grading, sizing, and quality across all product categories.
- Stay current with fabric trends, construction techniques, and market standards.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of technical design experience in the apparel industry.
- Experience in Girls sizing required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, and PLM systems.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and grading.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and quality.
