Technical Designer - Men’s and Women’s Apparel
Our client, a leader within the apparel industry, is looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Technical Designer to join the team. This role plays a key part within the overall product team and ensuring fit consistency across our products. The ideal candidate has private label experience.
This role works onsite in Orange County - only local and available candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of technical design for assigned categories
- Serve as the liaison between the Design, Product Development and factories
- Participate in and lead fittings and continuously evaluate fit, providing comments and making adjustments as needed
- Partner with design team to ensure understanding of product fit
- Create and update tech packs as needed
- Continuously communicate with vendors paying particular attention to the calendar and deadlines
- Ensure accurate and consistent fit throughout categories and seasons
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a technical designer - ideally within the lifestyle apparel industry and experience with private label
- Experience with knits and wovens
- Extensive grading experience
- Skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Excel and PLM
- Must be a team player and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-Motivated with a continued desire to achieve best results
- Must be solution oriented and proactive in identifying and correcting potential issues
- Passion for ensuring consistent fit and consistency with sizing
