POSITION OVERVIEWThe Vice President of Product Development +Merchandising for Intimates is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and management of the company's intimate apparel division. This role requires an individual with strong leadership skills, industry knowledge, and a strategic mindset to drive growth and profitability. This position requires the ability to work onsite 5 days a week in the New York Metropolitan area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Product Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy for the intimates category, ensuring alignment with the company's overall vision and objectives.
- Product Development: Oversee the entire product development process, from concept to production, for intimate apparel items.
- This includes researching trends, ideating new designs, and working closely with design and technical teams to ensure high-quality and innovative products.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including design, sourcing, production, and sales, to ensure seamless execution of the product development process and the timely delivery of products to market.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness in the production of intimate apparel products.
- Market Research: Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Customer Insights: Leverage customer feedback, data, and insights to inform product development and drive continuous improvement.
- Brand Development: Collaborate with design and sales teams to develop and promote a strong brand identity for the intimate product line, ensuring consistency in messaging and positioning across all channels.
- Maintain all customer product calendars, including but not limited to design samples, fits, and pre-production samples.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must Have: Experience working with Walmart or Private Label.
- Bachelor's degree in fashion, textiles, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in intimate apparel product development, with a strong focus on design, merchandising, and sourcing.
- Proven track record of successfully leading product development teams and managing large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of the intimate apparel market including customer preferences, trends, and competitor landscape specifically with Mass Market accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with ease.
