The Ultimate Checklist To Find Your Dream Job

Find your dream job

Finding your dream job is not always easy. Filtering through the hundreds of openings to find the right fit can be a challenge. As a recruitment agency, 24 Seven knows how overwhelming the job search can be. So our recruiters have compiled their tips to help you land your perfect full-time or freelance job. Whether you’re searching straight out of college or have years of experience and are ready for a change, these 4 tips will help you find your dream job.

1. Research

The first step to finding your dream job is research. Look into industries that interest you, where you have experience, and where your skills are in-demand. Get creative with this process and think about where you could implement your skills and experience, and what companies you would enjoy working for. This could include a brand you idolize, a product you use daily, or a company you look to for inspiration that offers roles in the field you have experience in or want to work in.

2. Identify

Take the research you did in step 1 and start to make a list. Write down companies in the industries you identified, brands you love, and agencies that work with those brands and companies. Check out who from this list is hiring and what they're hiring for. One of these roles may turn out to be your dream job but you'll need to put in a little more work to be sure.

3. Research, AGAIN

This time, examine company culture by reading about your target companies on sites like Glassdoor and looking up their social media accounts and current employees to get a feel for the office. Checkout the company website to read about their vision and values. Connecting with your employer's mission will help you stay engaged in your role long-term. Use this second round of research to narrow down your target list and get one step closer to your dream job.

4. Network

Browse your existing network for anyone who you know who already works at or knows someone who works at your target companies. Utilize social media platforms such as LinkedIn, alumni groups, previous colleagues, and friends to cast a wide net and grow your network further.  Asking for help may seem daunting at first, but it will only help you in the long run, and you may come to find a new company you hadn’t researched that may just be the perfect fit.

Though these steps may seem straight forward, they are extremely important when embarking on the search for you dream job. See what roles we hire for here, and speak with one of our expert recruiters on next steps to finding your dream job.
