5 SIGNS IT’S TIME TO LOOK FOR A NEW JOB

Thinking About A New Job

It can be challenging to leave a job, especially if you’ve been with the company for a while and mastered the in’s and out’s of the position. Starting fresh, training, and working with a new team can be daunting. Good work happens when you’re fulfilled, and if you don’t feel that way anymore, it may be time for you to begin your search for a new role that will allow you to apply your skills passionately. Here are five signs it’s time to look for a new job:

Doing the Same Thing for Too Long

Every day you do the same work, and your skills are no longer improving. You’ve outgrown your position, but there’s no room for you to move up. If you’ve found yourself in this situation, it’s probably time to find a more challenging job that will allow you to continue to grow your skillset and eventually move onto the next step in your career.

Unmotivated and Uninspired

Even working a dream job, it’s hard to find the motivation to work every day. It’s a hundred times harder to motivate yourself to work on something that doesn’t inspire you at all, and time gets wasted trying to muster the energy. If you find yourself feeling unmotivated and uninspired, it may be time to find a role that you feel more passionate about.

Increased Stress

You have headaches, trouble sleeping, and your focus seems out of whack. Stress can be hard on the body, so if you find yourself frequently stressing out about work, consider finding a job that works with your schedule or one where you feel supported by your colleagues. Work stress is normal, but if it’s relentless, it may be time to look for a new job.

Problems Communicating

In a collaborative environment, communication is vital. If your relationship with your coworkers is becoming strained in a way that affects your ability to receive or give feedback, it might be time to seek a new opportunity that checks all the boxes. When looking for new opportunities, our recruitment team recommends connecting with people on LinkedIn as well as looking at the desired company’s Glassdoor reviews to get a better understanding of what working with a proposed organization may be like.
