An established consumer brand is seeking an experienced Director of Amazon to step into a high-impact freelance leadership role during a critical business period.
This is a 5 month contract (30-40 hours a week) that is fully remote starting in late July. Must be US based.
This person will play a central role in guiding marketplace performance through a major seasonal revenue window, partnering closely with stakeholders across strategy, paid media, merchandising, and operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, commercially sharp, and comfortable leading both execution and strategic problem-solving within a fast-moving consumer brand environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day direction of the Amazon business during a major revenue quarter
- Monitor account performance, identify risks and growth opportunities, and help the team move quickly on priorities
- Provide senior input on pricing, media, merchandising, operational issues, and account-level decisions
- Lead high-priority strategic initiatives, including adjacent channel coordination and launches as needed
- Partner with internal leadership to maintain momentum during seasonal peaks and major promotional events
- Support clear communication and decision-making across cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience leading or operating a sizable Amazon US business, ideally at the Director or senior leadership level
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Amazon tools and ecosystem platforms, including Seller Central, Brand Analytics, and advertising platforms
- Experience working in high-growth, corporate, or private equity-backed environments
- Demonstrated success managing performance during high-pressure seasonal periods
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver concise, executive-ready updates
- Comfort stepping into an established team and making an immediate impact
Preferred Experience
- Background in personal care, beauty, CPG, or related consumer categories
- Exposure to channels such as TikTok Shop, Walmart, or other digital marketplaces
- Experience collaborating closely with paid media teams
- Previous involvement in leadership transition coverage, restructuring, or similar business continuity situations
