Apparel Designer

Our retail client is looking for a Menswear Apparel Designer for a hybrid freelance assignment in New York from 5/26 through 8/19.

This role supports the design and development of seasonal men’s apparel collections for Value and Wholesale channels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support seasonal men’s apparel collection development
• Create sketches, flats, and technical packages in Adobe Illustrator
• Build mood boards, concept decks, and trend presentations
• Research trends, color direction, fabrics, and silhouette ideas
• Maintain tech packs, BOMs, and PLM updates
• Attend fit sessions and track revisions
• Partner with Merchandising, Technical Design, and Production teams
• Communicate with overseas vendors and factories
• Support product development timelines and seasonal milestones
• Assist with presentations, line reviews, and market preparation

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of apparel design or product development experience
• Menswear experience preferred
• Strong Illustrator sketching and technical flat skills
• Experience creating tech packs and supporting product development
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; PLM experience preferred
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and fit
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
• Portfolio required
