Assistant Designer, Juniors
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to support a busy juniors fast fashion business. This role is ideal for someone with a strong sense of trend, solid technical design skills, and the ability to work across multiple product categories in a fast-moving environment.
The Assistant Designer will work closely with the design team to help develop commercially relevant product from concept through execution. The right candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of product for a juniors fast fashion business across a range of categories.
- Research seasonal trends, emerging fashion directions, and competitive product to support new development.
- Create sketches, flats, CADs, color assortments, and presentation materials.
- Help prepare and maintain tech packs and other design documentation.
- Support the development of fabrics, trims, washes, prints, color stories, and silhouettes.
- Track samples, update comments, and assist with fittings and revisions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including merchandising, product development, and production to support the product lifecycle.
- Prepare materials for meetings, presentations, and seasonal reviews.
- Keep up with market trends and the evolving juniors customer.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in apparel design or an assistant design role.
- Background in juniors apparel preferred.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-volume retail environments is a plus.
- Ability to work across multiple categories.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic setting.
- Strong eye for trend, color, and commercially viable product.
- Fashion design degree or comparable experience preferred.
