Title:
Audio Technician
Compensation: $35/hr
Schedule: Onsite 5 days/wk
MUST have the technical capabilities: Dante Integration and RF (radio frequency) are very important.
Experience with Corporate live events is a must (not just concerts)
Audio Technicians will be working in the shop and at different venues across southern CA.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager with site supervision of the install team, communication of daily job site status, and completion of required job documentation as needed.
- Operating modern 32+channel digital audio consoles from Digico, Yamaha, Allen-Heath, Midas, Avid, or other touring-grade manufacturers.
- Executing cues and changes based on client and/or show needs
- Installing and placing speakers, and operating line array systems.
- Positioning (5) or more Lavalier microphones on stage.
- Preparing wireless for operation using basic RF theory.
- Prepping pull sheets and QC gear in the shop.
- EQing event space to avoid feedback and optimize acoustic performance
- Maintaining inventory of audiovisual equipment and accessories, ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Assembling Rigging/Truss, Lighting Rig, Power, and Network Infrastructure.
- Taking direction from onsite project managers, onsite leads, and technicians.
- Working cooperatively within a team and with other departments.
- Lifting various scenic and tech event-related equipment. (50+ lbs.)
Qualifications
- Experience managing teams on site.
- Experience using and programming 32+channel digital audio consoles.
- Experience installing and placing speakers, operating line array systems.
- Basic carpentry skills/ability to use power tools.
- Practical experience work on event sites (staging, truss, rigging).
- Excellent physical stamina, and strong communication skills.
- Experience in stage lighting, video systems and proficiency with pro audio systems.
