Job description

We are seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and solutions-oriented Production / Product Development Specialist to lead development and production execution across multiple product categories. This person will partner closely with Design, Technical Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Operations, and overseas factories to ensure products are delivered on time, on cost, and to quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings extensive apparel product development and production experience, strong ownership of seasonal calendars and milestones, and the ability to proactively resolve challenges throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the product development and production process from concept through final delivery.
  • Own seasonal development calendars, critical path timelines, and key milestones.
  • Oversee sample management, approvals, fittings, and product development deliverables.
  • Manage and maintain tech packs, BOMs, WIP reports, costing information, and production documentation.
  • Drive fabric, trim, color, print, and lab dip approvals.
  • Partner directly with overseas factories and vendors to ensure development and production timelines are met.
  • Manage purchase orders, production tracking, vendor communication, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Technical Design, Merchandising, Production, Sourcing, and Operations teams.
  • Identify risks, troubleshoot production challenges, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Ensure product quality, cost targets, and delivery expectations are achieved throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of product development and/or production experience within the apparel industry.
  • Strong experience in women’s swimwear, activewear, sportswear, or lifestyle apparel.
  • Extensive experience working with overseas factories and manufacturing partners.
  • Deep understanding of garment construction, development calendars, production timelines, and factory communication.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM systems, tech packs, BOMs, WIP reports, costing, ERP systems, and production documentation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Adobe Illustrator experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience leading both product development and production functions.
  • Background supporting premium or contemporary apparel brands.
  • Strong understanding of seasonal product development, sourcing, sample management, and vendor partnerships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are a strong plus, as this role partners closely with overseas vendors and factories.
