Job description

A growing fashion brand is looking for a Technical Designer to support the Collection. This person will play a key role in bringing design concepts to life by ensuring strong fit, construction, and overall product execution across categories: Tops and Bottoms (Contemporary).

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Partner closely with Design and Product Development to translate concepts into commercially viable products
  • Lead live fit sessions and evaluate garments for fit, proportion, construction, and design intent
  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs, including specs, POMs, grading, construction details, and fit comments
  • Communicate fit comments and construction requirements to overseas factories
  • Troubleshoot fit, construction, and manufacturing issues throughout development
  • Review and approve proto samples with recommendations to improve fit, quality, and feasibility
  • Support consistency across categories including soft dressing, wovens, suiting, and outerwear
  • Help keep development calendars, fittings, and milestones on track
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance where needed
  • Identify process improvements and support overall product quality and efficiency

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run production fittings independently and evaluate garment fit on live models
  • Prepare samples, measure garments, and organize fittings
  • Update tech packs, graded specs, sketches, fit comments, and construction details
  • Maintain technical databases and T&A calendars
  • Communicate fit comments and construction updates to overseas and domestic vendors
  • Review TOP samples and approve production-ready garments
  • Partner cross-functionally with Design, Sales, and Production to support product execution

Qualifications:

  • 4–6 years of Technical Design experience
  • Experience with contemporary women’s tops and bottoms
  • Knowledge of denim, woven, and knit fabrics
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, sewing, and grading
  • Experience running fittings and communicating with overseas vendors
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
