Experience Designer — Mid LevelPortland, OR · Full-time
About the role
We’re a small design studio working across branded environments, experiential campaigns, and spatial storytelling. You’ll join a tight-knit team of designers, strategists, and makers who care deeply about the quality of their work and the people they make it with.
As a mid-level Experience Designer, you’ll take ownership of projects from concept through fabrication — translating brand strategy into physical and environmental design that people actually feel. Working closely with the Creative Director, Lead Designers, and cross-functional teams, you’ll bring strong creative and technical abilities to a highly collaborative environment.
What you’ll do
- Lead design development on environmental, spatial, and experiential projects
- Collaborate with the Creative Director, Lead Designers, project managers, and clients to align on design vision, requirements, and timelines
- Create wayfinding systems, signage, and branded environment graphics
- Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and production-ready files
- Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges throughout the lifecycle of a project
- Manage your own project timelines and communicate progress clearly to the team
- Contribute ideas in studio brainstorms and new business pitches
What we’re looking for
- 3–6 years of experience in environmental, spatial, or experiential design
- A portfolio of completed, built projects — not just concepts
- Strong knowledge of spatial design principles and materiality
- Proficiency in SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma
- Familiarity with fabrication methods, materials, and production specs
- A clear communicator with clients, vendors, and teammates alike
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects at varying scales
- A genuine passion for design and a sharp eye for detail
What we offer
- A collaborative, creative studio environment where your work genuinely matters
- Health insurance
- Paid vacation and 40 hours of sick time per year
- Holiday pay
- Training and development support
- Hybrid/work-from-home flexibility
Working conditions
This is a fast-paced studio environment with shifting priorities and timelines. The role involves intensive computer work on Mac-based systems, including extended keyboard and mouse use. Occasional overtime may be required based on project needs.
