A well-known fashion brand we are partnering with is looking for a freelance Men’s technical designer out of a contemporary of luxury fashion brand.
About the Role:
This role will serve as the technical expert for structured, tailored menswear, with a strong focus on structured jackets. You’ll lead fit sessions, provide technical guidance throughout development, and partner closely with Design, Product Development, and Production to ensure exceptional fit, quality, and execution.
While the primary focus is menswear, there will also be an opportunity to support athleisure and select women’s casual categories as business needs evolve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fit sessions for structured and tailored menswear, with a focus on jackets and tailored garments.
- Develop and communicate fit comments and construction recommendations.
- Ensure garments meet brand standards for fit, quality, and consistency.
- Partner cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, Technical Design, and Production teams.
- Support additional categories, including athleisure and women’s casual apparel, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience as a Technical Designer or Senior Technical Designer within luxury or contemporary apparel.
- Strong expertise in structured tailoring, garment construction, menswear fit standards, and measurements.
- Experience with both structured and unstructured tailoring is preferred.
- Current or recent experience working in men’s apparel is highly preferred.
- Backgrounds primarily focused on sportswear or streetwear are less aligned with this opportunity.
