Job description

We’re looking for a strategic and highly analytical Inventory Planner to join a leading luxury home furnishings brand. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining data, merchandising strategy, and inventory planning to drive sales, margin, and overall business performance.

In this role, you’ll own inventory and assortment planning across key categories, partnering closely with Merchandising and cross functional teams to identify opportunities, manage inventory investments, and ensure the right product is available at the right time.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop pre season sales, inventory, and assortment plans aligned with financial goals
  • Analyze historical performance and current trends to identify opportunities and risks
  • Build department, collection, and SKU level sales and inventory forecasts
  • Manage demand forecasting across department, subclass, collection, and SKU levels
  • Own open to buy activities and recommend inventory investments to senior leadership
  • Forecast sales, inventory, receipts, and product flow to maximize availability and profitability
  • Monitor top performing collections and SKUs to maximize in stock levels and revenue
  • Partner closely with Merchandising to support product and assortment strategies
  • Manage the on order pipeline and coordinate product flow requirements with vendors
  • Reconcile top down financial plans with bottom up forecasts
  • Identify strategies to drive sales, improve inventory productivity, and mitigate risk
  • Support and mentor team members while contributing to broader planning initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years of inventory planning or inventory management experience
  • Strong demand forecasting, open to buy, and inventory planning experience
  • Solid understanding of retail math and financial planning concepts
  • Experience analyzing performance at the department, collection, and SKU level
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to quickly learn new planning systems
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience across both ecommerce and brick and mortar channels is a plus
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
