Junior Talent Publicist (Agency)
Location: New York, NY – fully onsite
We are seeking a sharp, culturally fluent Junior Talent Publicist to support a growing talent publicity team in New York City. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is passionate about entertainment, media, and the evolving relationship between talent, brands, and culture. The right candidate is organized, proactive, well-informed, and excited to help shape compelling public narratives for high-profile individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Publicity Support
- Assist with the execution of day-to-day publicity strategy for celebrity, creator, and high-visibility clients.
- Support media outreach by drafting pitches, press materials, and tailored outreach across entertainment, lifestyle, business, and culture outlets.
- Help coordinate interviews, media requests, schedules, and press-facing opportunities.
- Track media placements and compile coverage reports, recaps, and client updates.
Media Relations & Trend Awareness
- Build and maintain professional relationships with editors, writers, producers, bookers, and other media contacts.
- Monitor the media landscape to stay current on outlet priorities, talent coverage, and emerging editorial opportunities.
- Identify relevant cultural moments, trends, and news hooks that can support client visibility.
Events & Talent Moments
- Assist in publicity execution surrounding launches, partnerships, appearances, press days, and major cultural events.
- Support logistics for junkets, red carpets, media-facing activations, and special events.
- Coordinate with managers, stylists, glam teams, and additional partners to help ensure smooth execution.
Administrative & Team Support
- Create media lists, briefing documents, agendas, and internal support materials.
- Maintain organized systems for tracking outreach, coverage, deadlines, and ongoing campaign activity.
- Provide support to senior publicists across multiple clients and fast-moving projects.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in public relations, entertainment publicity, media, or a related field.
- Agency, talent, entertainment, or lifestyle PR experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong interest in celebrity, pop culture, media, and entertainment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Resourceful, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Based in NYC with flexibility to attend events and work occasional nontraditional hours.
